After talking with our customers about how we can better support you, Delaware Valley Steel is excited to share a big update: we’ve enhanced our in-house drilling capacity with the addition of a Kinetic K5000 XRM, a heavy-duty CNC plate processing machine, to our facility.
What does that mean for you? It means we can take more drilling work off your plate, so your team can stay focused on your goals. Now that drilling capabilities are handled in-house, we can support repeat jobs, larger orders, and tighter schedules while ensuring the quality you expect from us.
This new system also expands our capabilities on the cutting side. The K5000 XRM is equipped with the Hypertherm XPR 460, which allows us to plasma cut plates up to 3″ thick. On the drilling side, we can now drill holes up to 4″ in diameter in an 8″ thick plate.
In addition to drilling and heavier plate plasma cutting, the K5000 XRM also expands our beveling capabilities, especially for weld prep and profile beveling. The system can perform contour bevel cutting up to 45 degrees, making it ideal for parts that need precise edge preparation before fabrication.
Whether you need standard bevels or more complex profiles, the machine can produce a full range of bevel types, including V-, A-, Y-, and K-bevels, along with custom bevel profiles for specialty applications. Because the beveling process is automated, it helps ensure consistent root faces and angles across production runs, making fit-up smoother and weld quality easier to maintain.
To support accuracy throughout the cut, the system also includes full height control, helping maintain clean, repeatable bevels even on longer runs or thicker material.
